Phyllis Schatz, born Phyllis Celaine Atchick on October 31, 1927, died June 26, 2013.
She was a teacher, storyteller, singer, actress,
mother, grandmother, partner and good friend, and she continued to seek new
experiences throughout her life. Phyllis’ bountiful love, buoyant spirit, charisma,
wacky sense of humor, tender heart, gracious hospitality, and deep interest in
people will be long remembered.
She was cherished and will be missed by many
wonderful friends, by her brother Chuck,
her children Bruce, Hiroko, Rebecca, John, Steven, Paul, Susan and Michael, her much adored grandchildren Jeb, Karl,
Serena and Lauren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
